All About Josh

Who’s this “Josh” guy?

I am a student leader looking to create positive social change as well as inspire others to use the relationships they have fostered with others around them to shape themselves. In my first year at Central Michigan University, I have worked hard to get involved in hosting campus events, volunteering through various organizations, and even recruiting prospective students to make CMU their institution of choice. I am currently working on a Bachelor of Applied Arts Degree majoring in Public Relations with minors in Leadership and Political Science, as well as an Undergraduate Certificate in Social Media. I plan to use my degree to some day serve as a public relations professional for a corporation or agency, working specifically with their social media platforms as well as handling media relations.

Enough with the technical stuff-here’s a little more about me…

I graduated from Franklin High School in Livonia, Michigan as Student Congress President and Summa Cum Laude. My home consists of only my family and I and I have developed strong relationships with my grandparents and cousins. I am a HUGE sports fanatic! Growing up I had always been a huge fan of the Detroit Tigers, Red Wings, and Lions. Being that I am a Metro Detroiter, I often attend sporting events downtown with my friends and family. I often fall asleep to Sports Center and do not make time to watch any television series because I spend a lot of my free time watching sports and keeping up with highlights and statistics. As a child, I played baseball for about 8 years and I have bowled on a 36 week league since age 3. My only current athletic involvement is with the Barnes Hall intramural Bowling Team. I love to travel! My cousins and I went to Siesta Key Beach in Sarasota, Florida for the past 4 years of spring break and this year I look forward to a trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

I am heavily involved on CMU’s campus (see “Involvements”) and am very passionate about student leadership not only here at CMU but also in Michigan’s middle and high schools. As a member of the College Volunteer Facilitator Corps, I am also heavily involved with the Michigan Association of Student Councils and Honor Societies. I am an Eagle Scout through the Boy Scouts of America, who have helped shaped my care values and shaped me into the man I am today.
